Woah! I was just discussing this w/my mom today, since my sister is getting a promotion to "Supervisor of Homeopathic Medicine" in her company. She told me…long ago and for SEVERAL BORING HOURS…about how the fascia causes cellulite (when combined with fat). The fascia is like a "web" of connective tissue under the skin and even a little fat can "ooze" up through, causing a dimpled look (says Sis).

This is why "cures" focus on MASSAGE so often. It stretches the fascia and makes the fat less visible. Also, losing FAT helps, too, but I've seen fairly thin women (it's usually women, I don't know why) with cellulite! So…massage away, I guess!

I try to work out (just started every other day), and I eat healthy. I weigh 110 and am 5'2". I have cellulite. I can see it. With appropriate lighting, I look like a monster. Does every woman have this? Or just unlucky ones?

About the cellulite thing, the only thing that I have found is eating right, excercising and really using a lot of lotion to keep your skin elastic. Other than that, self tanner is a great wonderful invention.

I have lost a lot of weight and only have to lose another 14lb before i reach my goal weight, the only problem is i have cellulite at the top of my legs!! If I get super skinny legs will the cellulite go?! Many thanks in advance!

Five tips:

1. Drink well
Drink three liters of water per day to flush out any excess sodium that causes fluid retention. If you get bored of water, try herbal teas or a fruit juice. Sticking to this regime can make your skin look better in few days…
2. Exercise

I'm 5'7" and weigh 125 lbs, and yet I have trouble getting rid of the cellulite, which is only on the upper part of the back of my legs.

Is cellulite only an age-related thing? I am 39 years old.
I do exercise several times a week (walking), and I try to watch what I eat.

No hun, cellulite has nothing to do with your age or your body weight. i'm 19, size 2 and i still have cellulite around my thighs and my hip. the problem is, i used to be a little chubby girl and i started excercising like crazy for a while then i dropped 6 sizes, and that's when i notice the cellulite – it causes by uneven fat tissue forming under your skin and create that lumpy appearance. also my friends who have lost a great amount of weight have also struggle with cellulite. i had posted up a similar question a while back and i followed some of the advice the people have given me and i also bought myself some anti-cellulite cream from Avon, and it really helped to reduce the cellulite on my body, i can barely see them now, and i only used it for about 2 – 3 weeks. maybe you should give it a try, it's not pricey at all. good luck :D
I'm 15 and i'm sortof startin' to notice a little bit of those little demons around my butt and thighs. Try to firm your legs exercise do little jogs make sure you do leg exersises if your serious about gettig rid of them and use NIVEA Goodbye Cellulite it really worked for me and try drinking water insead of juice and pop for 1 week to clean out your body:) make sure you do legs exersises!!
Im 13, so i really cant go to the gym. i cant believe i have cellulite on my thighs. its not too much but its still noticeable! what are some really good exercises for cellulite on your thighs? also, im trying to make m butt more slimmer and firmer…what are the best ways for that. i eat healthy and exercise too….i just need help!

Dont worry about it so much – all women and young girls have it nowadays.
what causes it? – yo-yo dieting, depriving/starving your body, not drinking enough water, lack of exercise, non-organic food consumption, not eating enough veggies and fruit, eating junk food, drinking sodas etc.
what you can do? – cardio – its the only fat burning exercise – running, jogging, swimming, rope jumping, hiking etc., eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
there is no specific exercise you can do because all exercises that target your thighs and butt only build muscle – they do not burn fat.
Im fairly skinny however i have cellulite on my thighs and butt. I'm guessing its because it runs in my family somewhere..I know there isnt mcuh I can do , but what can I do to help reduce the apperance???

Cellulite is a nuisance for thin and overweight women alike and can be somewhat more difficult to tackle than losing weight. Genetics, age, pregnancy and hormone levels are among the causes that you have no control over. Some people are born with weaker tissue structures that collect fat deposits more easily. And some women produce high levels of estrogen (especially during pregnancy) that tend to break apart collagen tissue fibers allowing for fat to deposit in the form of cellulite.

The good news is that there are plenty of other factors that cause cellulite which you can control. Your body fat level is probably the most important one; the less fat that you have on your body the less fat there is to push through those connective tissues. So even if you are genetically predisposed to cellulite lowering your body fat will keep it to a minimum. Two other factors to consider are poor circulation and bad food choices, which tend to go hand in hand. Poor circulation damages tissue which results in blocked air and trapped toxins from too much processed foods or food allergies. The more you exercise and the better food choices you make the less chance you have of toxins contributing to your cellulite. One last thing to consider is sun exposure that ages your skin and contributes to the breakdown of collagen tissue.

There are numerous treatments for cellulite on the market including herbal treatments, creams, gels, exfoliants, endermology, body wraps, hormone or enzyme injections, and even electrical muscle stimulation but the rate of success is low and there aren’t any studies or research that prove any of this stuff really works. These treatments are also very pricey. But don’t despair, there are more effective ways to reduce cellulite.

Build Fat Burning Muscle
Building muscle changes your body composition and burns off fat stores faster than cardio or dieting alone. For every pound of muscle you burn an extra 50 calories a day even while you sleep. If you were to put on 5lb of muscle you could be burning an extra 250 calories a day even while you sit. This is a lot more than an hour of cardio, which only keeps your metabolism elevated for several hours. Building muscle also increases circulation and elasticity, which tightens your muscles and skin tissue from within. It’s still important to do cardio but your focus should be on strength training, especially the lower body. The best lower body cellulite busters include walking lunges with dumbbell, seated leg curls, leg press, and plie squats with a dumbbell.

Stay Away From Fat Free
Obviously a healthy diet is the best way to reduce body fat but fat free products are some of the worst foods for fat loss. Another major problem with fat free foods is that the labeling is somewhat deceptive. "The FDA label laws state that if a food has less than one-half gram of fat in a serving, that food can be labeled fat-free. The FDA however, is a bit lax when it comes to regulating serving sizes. By using a serving size of .02-.04 grams a food manufacturer can actually label pure fat as fat free" explains fitness expert Phil Kaplan. If you are craving something have a small portion of the full fat portion and then get back on track with your healthy eating.
