Other than the buzz people like to get from caffeine are there really any ill effects from basic everyday use? A friend of mine recently told me it turns to cellulite in the body, I have never heard this before.

No it does not turn into cellulite. the calories that you might consume with the caffiene might since excess calories are stored in the body. caffiene can speed up your heart rate, raise your blood pressure, not allow your body to absorb certain nuntrients such as calcium that is required to have a healthy body. hope this helps.
I'm 120 pounds, 5'3", and still have cellulite. While reducing 10 pounds would help, it still exists. I do moderate hiking (up hill, rocks) 2-4 miles every day. I eat pretty well, although I do like my sweets, chocolate and have coffee cream. Help!

Increase your water intake which will improve circulation, try to cut out some of the sugar and caffeine if you can (its hard though) reduce salt and try massaging moisturiser into the problem areas twice daily, don't get sucked in by cellulite creams, cheap cocoa butter or similar will do the same. Dry body brushing twice daily (before a shower) with a firm brush works wonders as well.
What do they look like? Is cellulite the diply skin? And stretchmarks the 'concave creases' on teh skin or the pink brusing lines?

And why do people get them? Is it fat people?

If you do get them is it permanent? Or say if you lost alot of weight your stretch marks and cellutilt disappear?

Cellulite is the dimply looking skin…yes. But it doesn't necessarily have to look dimply for it to be considered cellulite. It's a fat build-up I believe…you can find products from Clarins that are supposed to help elminate the look of them. Often products that have caffeine in them, as it stimulates the area…sadly enough though, there has been nothing that honestly proven to eliminate them. Exercise to avoid them.

Stretchmarks are the stripes. Yup, they can be pink, or white. You can prevent them at the early stages if they're still pink but many women will get them when their skin stretches at a rate faster than it is meant to. For instance, when pregnant, your skin stretches to accomodate the baby…the rate at which it is stretching is fairly quick, and your skin may not be that pliable and well moisturized. (keep in mind that some women are predisposed to these types of stretch marks…look at your mom for an idea..)
Of course pregnancy isn't the only way to get stretch marks…but to make a long story short, it's because your body is stretching..and no, it's not limited to just "fat people".

I just asked my wife about this who's been trying to fight this forever, especially since our kids were born, and she's done some extensive research

She says that definetly the best way is through diet so you should always try that first but if you're in a huge hurry, and are adamant about using a cream she recommends that people try Revitol….

One major reason it's so good is because of it's natural ingredients that seem to absorb into the body, and isn't greasy like most. None work right away but this seems to have worked the fastest, and she's right because I'm the one looking at her…

Plus, it has alot of concentrated caffeine which is supposedly supposed to help….

Also (she just looked it up) it's got Retinol A which is huge factor in fighting cellulite and making the skin healthy as well. I guess all these ingredients working together kick some major butt…

Cellulite creams only work for the moment, they are made with caffeine and other ingredients that plump the skin. They do nothing at all to help permanetly treat or get rid of cellulite. Though if you are just looking for a quick fix before you go to the beach or for an outfit on a special night then i would recommend lancome's cream. I have worked for clinique and estee lauder for a number of years as a beauty advisor and a manager so i have tried and have knowledge about most cometics. There are treatments that you can have at a physicians/ plastic surgeons office but they are very pricey and you have to go to repeated sessions but it would give you a better outcome then the cream. Inless you want to slather cream on your body everyday for the rest of your life or spend a heaping amount of money i recommend working out just a little taking walks and increasing the length as you get comfortable, and also take pride in your body your not alone your beautiful no matter what i have yo yoed in my weight my whole life by 10- 15lbs and even at my lowest weight at 105lbs i still had cellulite love yourself.

How to Remove Cellulite

Understand what cellulite is. Cellulite is a fatty substance that is found under your connective tissues. As it accumulates it pushes against the connective tissues and makes the skin pucker and ripple.

Start drinking a lot of water – I mean a lot! At least 10 8oz glasses of filtered water daily. If we're going to get rid of that cellulite and the toxins stored in it we need to give your body a way to push it out.

Develop an exercise program that is designed to help remove your body fat content. Exercise is an effective way of reducing the amount of cellulite that you have. The only cosmetic process which makes any difference to cellulite is body-brushing and a good vigorous body scrub (I use Philosophy Gingerbread salt scrub). Combine these with massage over a number of weeks, drink plenty of water, avoid caffeine, alcohol etc… you should see results within three weeks. Despite what some people in the media say it 'is' possible to break down cellulite to a noticeable degree (I know because I've done it) but you need to be dedicated, give yourself a month-long cellulite blitz. To answer your question there is no miracle cream, it's an impossibility, nothing can be absorbed so far into your body as to break down fat cells. All these creams do is improve skin tone and leave a hole in your wallet.
On the radio the other day they had people call in for their "home remedy" beauty secrets and one woman said after she makes her coffee in the morning she uses the coffee grounds and rubs in on her thighs because the caffeine in it helps to smooth out her cellulite.

Well caffeine is found in many of those products that claim to reduce cellulite- those products are not miracle products and the results are usually minimal. I dont see how simply rubbing on it for a brief while can help anything, it probably just exfoliates and makes her skin appear to look smoother
